Production Development Division – FTC 2023

In an effort to increase activities for high school and early-level undergraduate technical production students and to attract upper-level undergraduate and graduate students to participate in the conference, FTC Works! provides opportunities to learn, network, and pursue employment in the technical production arena. This initiative is comprised of three sectors and is developed and served by Technical Theatre Educators and Professional Company Representatives.

Health & Safety Guidelines

Florida Theatre Conference Board of Directors is taking every precaution to ensure that its event is both rewarding and safe. We are making sure that every precaution and safety measure for performances, auditions and workshops are carefully supervised and executed. We want to ensure that everyone has a healthy, safe, and enjoyable experience at FTC. 

Florida Theatre Conference, Inc. understands that monitoring potential symptoms is a major component to preventing the spread of the virus.

Anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or may have been lab confirmed to have COVID-19, should stay home. Otherwise, FTC participants should:

  • understand that regardless of vaccination status, they are expected to wear a face mask throughout the facilities.
  • refer to the Division page on the FTC website for mask practices related to their Division’s event.
  • confirm that they have not been lab confirmed to have COVID-19.
  • confirm that they have not had known close contact with any person who is lab confirmed to have COVID-19.
  • understand that travel significantly increases a risk of contracting and transmitting the COVID-19 virus.
  • use physical distancing between individuals in all areas of the facility.
  • cover coughs and sneezes.
  • wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
  • use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
  • avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

Middle School/Youth Theatre Division – FTC 2023

FTC invites you to perform a one-act in the Middle School One-Act Play Festival at Florida Theatre Conference! Attending the Conference allows your students to move seamlessly from performing a one-act to participating in a multitude of exciting classroom-based workshops, and watching organized, full-scale theatre performances. FTC’s Middle School One-Act Play Festival performance guidelines align with Florida Junior Thespian guidelines, giving your students an excellent performance opportunity prior to District Thespians. Feedback from two FTC Respondents gives you constructive and encouraging advice on strengthening your production. The Middle School One-Act Play Festival “Rules and Guidelines”.

High School Division – FTC 2023

College & University Reps – FTC 2023

Each year, over fifty colleges, universities, and conservatories from around the United States are represented at the Florida Theatre Conference, where acting, musical theatre, and design/technical auditions are held for over 380 high school juniors and seniors, and over 50 students transferring from state colleges. The FTC auditions are the first to be held during the school year in Florida.
