Production Development Division – FTC 2023

In an effort to increase activities for high school and early-level undergraduate technical production students and to attract upper-level undergraduate and graduate students to participate in the conference, FTC Works! provides opportunities to learn, network, and pursue employment in the technical production arena. This initiative is comprised of three sectors and is developed and served by Technical Theatre Educators and Professional Company Representatives.

Middle School/Youth Theatre Division – FTC 2023

FTC invites you to perform a one-act in the Middle School One-Act Play Festival at Florida Theatre Conference! Attending the Conference allows your students to move seamlessly from performing a one-act to participating in a multitude of exciting classroom-based workshops, and watching organized, full-scale theatre performances. FTC’s Middle School One-Act Play Festival performance guidelines align with Florida Junior Thespian guidelines, giving your students an excellent performance opportunity prior to District Thespians. Feedback from two FTC Respondents gives you constructive and encouraging advice on strengthening your production. The Middle School One-Act Play Festival “Rules and Guidelines”.

High School Division – FTC 2023

College & University Reps – FTC 2023

Each year, over fifty colleges, universities, and conservatories from around the United States are represented at the Florida Theatre Conference, where acting, musical theatre, and design/technical auditions are held for over 380 high school juniors and seniors, and over 50 students transferring from state colleges. The FTC auditions are the first to be held during the school year in Florida.

FTC 2023 – November 2-4 at the AdventHealth Fieldhouse & Conference Center, Winter Haven, FL

The annual Florida Theatre Conference encompasses a comprehensive week of performances and opportunities for theatre artists of all ages. Over four days, FTC presents High School, Youth Theatre, and Middle School play festivals, professional performances, and the DraMature and Inclusion festival showcases. A three-day Community Theatre festival is held prior. A multitude of skills-building workshops and master classes are offered in all areas of theatre.

High School and State College transfer students may audition for over fifty colleges, universities and conservatories from around the nation, and have an opportunity to meet with college representatives in the FTC College Fair.

State College and University students may audition for advancement to the Southeastern Theatre Conference spring festival, where professional theatres from around the nation hire for seasonal work. (NOTE: SETC Professional Screening Audition registration is directly through SETC: SETC Auditions.) 

All registered FTC conference guests have full access to all performances, workshops, and events.

Interested friends and family may purchase inexpensive day passes to watch any play festival, and can also attend the closing ceremony. The closing ceremony celebrates the Festival and includes awards, performances and more.
