Auditioning Students

Students have the opportunity to take part in two auditions.

All college and university students are eligible to take part in the preliminary auditions for Southeastern Theatre Conference's Professional Auditions. Community college students can also take part in the transfer acting auditions or design/tech interviews.

The Community College Transfer/Secondary School Auditions/Interviews at the Florida Theatre Conference (FTC) allow you to further pursue your training with a number of four-year institutions to work toward a successful future in the theatre arts. Through these auditions, you can audition or interview for college/university representatives from Florida and throughout the southeastern region. You will be able to make informed and effective decisions about their future before transferring to a four-year institution.

The Community College Transfer/Secondary School Auditions/Interviews will be conducted at the Florida Theatre Conference Festival on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 3:00pm at The Lakeland Center in Lakeland, Florida. Acting auditions begin at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. Acting callback interviews will be conducted on Saturday morning beginning at 10:30 a.m. Forms for the auditions are below.

Technical/Design/ Management interviews presentations will be held on Thursday, November 6th at 3:00pm along with the acting auditions. The callback interviews will be held on Saturday, November 8th, beginning at 10:30am.

SETC Preliminary auditions allow college and non-professional actors to pass on to the annual professional auditions held by Southeastern Theatre Conference. Every march, these auditions allow actors to be seen by over 100 professional hiring theatres as part of their annual convention. More information can be found in the SETC Preliminary Auditions section of this site.

Once again, the conference will also feature the COLLEGE AND COMMERCIAL EXPO, on Thursday, November 6, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in which recruiting programs will display materials and meet with interested students before the auditions and interviews.

Finally, approximately 65 workshops are held throughout the conference. These give you the opportunity to learn new techniques and ideas from professionals and faculty from the many colleges and universities throughout Florida.
