We encourage you and your group to explore beautiful Santa Fe College - and take advantage of some "totally cool" local offerings that both individuals and groups can enjoy. We have included links or telephone numbers so you can sign-up in advance to lock in admission. Some even have discounted their rates for Festival attendees! Enjoy!
Santa Fe College
While attending the Florida Theater Conference at Santa Fe College on Thursday, October 27th & Friday, October 28th you may visit the Kika Silva Pla Planetarium and/or the Teaching Zoo.
The Kika Silva Pla Planetarium is showing "Music 360: Rock on Demand" at 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. both evenings. Also, we will be showing Florida Skies at 7pm on Friday, October 28th. The show is approximately 45-minutes and maximum seating is 60.
Show Description: "Rock on Demand" Vol. 1 is an entertainment music show (not a planetarium show) featuring bands like The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Rush, Pink Floyd and many others, combined with outstanding computer animations which fill the entire dome, surrounding you with an experience which you won't soon forget! With 75 minutes of full dome music, the Kika Silva Pla Planetarium will present "Rock on Demand" in two volumes... two separate shows. (A Clark Planetarium Production)[45 min each] Ages: 13+
The Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo can provide guided tours at 9:30, 10:30 or 11:30 a.m. Tours take approximately 60-minutes. If you prefer you can walk through the zoo yourself any time between 9am and 2pm.
The first step is to fill-out the "Field Trip Request Form" for Advanced Group Scheduling (15 or more people). Admission charges for each venue is $4 per person and will need to be paid in advance by contacting Anita Courtot (Tour & Planetarium Show Coordinator) via email at anita.courtot@sfcollege.edu after you have filled out and submitted the Field Trip Request form.
Please state that you are paying in advance by credit card (MasterCard or Visa) for the Florida Theater Conference.

F W Buchholz High School
Beginning Wednesday, October 26th and running through Sunday, October 30th, Ted Lewis and FW Buchholz High School will have a showing of their fall production of Robin Hood. Buchholz High School is 2.3 miles from the Santa Fe College Campus, the street address is 5510 NW 27th Avenue, Gainesville, FL, 32606. All FTC participants (including sponsors, chaperones, and students) who attend as a group will receive a discounted price of $4 - you will simply need to show your FTC id.
After the Wednesday show, there is a special bonus - a "Talk Back" session is scheduled where the audience will be able to ask questions of the cast and Mr Lewis about what it was like learning the fight scenes and designing and putting together the complex set. Robin Hood will have 12 stage combat sequences with live steel, the show is student directed and designed. The fight sequences have been choreographed by Ted Lewis, and will be tied into his FTC workshop.

University of Florida - School of Theatre and Dance
Paul F Favini, Acting Director of the School of Theatre and Dance invites you to join him for his student's production of "An Inspector Calls." It will be presented nightly at 7:30 PM in their Black Box Theatre. He will be offering a limited number of free tickets to FTC participants - first come first served - through the Florida Theatre Conference Festival Registration Desk.
