As the only secondary school drama organization in Florida that is associated with other theatre organizations and individuals, FTC allows secondary students to interact with and observe members of the total theatre community. At the annual FTC conference, activities include:

  • One-Act Play Festival Competition – High School Theatre Programs present their productions and compete against one another for an award of Superior. The winner of this competition represents the state of Florida at the Southeastern Theatre Conference, where it competes with the nine other states of SETC.
  • Workshops for acting, designing, directing, and more
  • College Fair
  • University and College Auditions
  • Showcase of students talent

 

Attending the Festival?
Teachers interested in bringing a group of students to the festival can download all the forms online, fill them in on their computer, print them, and mail them to the FTC Executive Director. Everything is in the first packet, with separate forms available below. You will need the latest Version of Adobe Acrobat to complete the forms.

Scholarships for Graduating High School Seniors

The Florida Theatre Conference awards two scholarships yearly--the Vern Bryant and the Fran Walker--to graduating seniors attending a Florida college or university. Students interested in applying may download the form online , fill it out on his/her computer, and mail it to the FTC Executive Director.
