The Theatre for Youth Division of the Florida Theatre Conference includes all elementary, middle, and high school performing arts groups, as well as adult groups, performing for young audiences.
By being a member of Florida Theatre Conference, individuals and groups can become involved in the only Theatre for Youth activity in the state of Florida. At FTC's annual festival you will be provided with the opportunity to network with one another, sharing successful strategies, marketing tips, and new theatre games.
The Florida Theatre Conference provides numerous activities at our annual festival at Santa Fe College in Gainesville.
They include:
Performing groups from around the state, representing all types of theatre for young audiences, travel to the annual Festival to showcase their works. The Festival of Performances is the highlight, and is available to the public and to groups from nearby Gainesville schools using an inexpensive day pass. This may be purchased from the box office on the day of performance.
If you are interested in bringing your group to take advantage of the immense learning opportunity, simply download the Group Registration Form found at the left, complete it, and mail with your enclosed check. The deadline for submission is October 1st.
If you would like to share your group's work by performing at the Festival, there is no additional cost. But you will need to download and complete an additional form - the Performance Submission Form found at the left. By performing in the Festival, you will be featured in the Festival Program issued to each person attending the festival.
Each year more than 1,500 college/university, high school, middle school, and elementary school students, along with community theatre participants, attend the FTC Festival.
As part of the Festival there are more than 60 workshops presented.
We encourage you to share your unique specialty and be a part of the Festival by presenting a workshop.
It is an excellent way to see the talent that is attending the Festival and provide a community service for the state of Florida.
